March 2008 - Andy has been a real trooper working through tough times in his life this past year and half.   Like many serviceman who have sacrificed, he returns to a home life turned upside down due to infidelity while he was deployed and now is going through a divorce.   Andy is a person of strong principles and will undoubtedly get through this. 

September 2006 - Andy Returns.

February 16, 2006 -  Email from Andrew...."I got a new job this week I think it will temporary for the turnover that we are doing with the new battalion that we will be working for. Time is flying, I will home in less than three months, I am having fun here but would still rather be in my own home. How's everybody? tell them I said hi. I went to the Hard Rock Cafe' in Kuwait City the other night, it was nice to get in my civilian clothes and eat like a person for a change, don't ask how we did it, we just did it. "

January 18, 2006 - Well the Holiday's are over and life moves on.  Andrew has been exchanging email and phone calls with many people.   It's hard to believe that his tour is about 1/2 over.  Andrew has also found a new mode of transportation.  It's called a Ford Camstang.    Picture was taken somewhere in the desert outside of Kuwait City. 

November 30, 2005 -  Andrew called friday after Thanksgiving and he sounded well.  He's stationed in the desert enjoying the sand, an improvement over the rocks in his prior location.  He's working 7 days a week with PT in the morning and finishes up around 6pm.   He reports that they would like movies (DVD's) because the selection is not so good.  So if you have any DVD's to send they'd appreciated it.  He can play them on his laptop computer.  He also acquired a bicycle from an Army person heading back home (see the picture below).  Email from Andrew -- Hey Bob Hows everbody? I am doing well, email is my only comm right now, I should have phone in a few weeks. Where are you going to be for Thankgiving? I will try to call sometime that I hope I have some time off. Days are long, getting ready to start a project in the desert. I am staying at Camp Beuhring in Kuwait right next to nowhere in the sand box. I got a bicycle the other day I look really cool riding around with my M-16 I will send a pic soon. We are having some kind of boiled turkey for Thanksgiving(army style). EO2 Gamble.

Email from November 13, 2005 Hi Hows things? My trip was rough 36 hours on a plane with 200 smelly people was great, the flight attendants instructions were funny (please stow weapons with muzzle toward the outside of the plane) getting on a plane with an M-16 was different. This is the email I will be using until things change. I will be working on getting a phone soon. EO2 Gamble

November 8, 2005 - Andrew has sent along his new mail (see above) and a message from Kuwait so he is able to communicate.   He mentioned his navy email account had passwords overwritten so use his andyss64@aol.com address.  He wrote me from that email.  He wrote.....Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that we are getting ready to leave CA. I am looking foward to going and getting our mission done. I have good idea what our mission is, its a pretty good one.

November 6, 2005 - this weekend is the last in the US as Andy is heading overseas next week.  Lisa is visiting over the weekend.   Andy has also sent a video clip of his rifle training.  See it under the California section.  You'll also see a nice GI Joe picture.

October 16, 2005  Andy is currently in California.  He reports that he may be leaving on November 9th and spend 3     months in Kuwait and then 3 months in Iraq.  He also reports that he is doing very well though he is living in a warehouse type facility.
