About Us

Silver Star, a 38' Catamaran made by Catana, is new to the Chesapeake Bay Charter family.  The boat offers national and international sailing enthusiasts the opportunity to charter a comfortable performance oriented catamaran to explore the treasures of the Chesapeake Bay.

Sail past Thomas Point Light on bareboat cruises from Annapolis

Bob and Cindy, owners of R.C. Gamble Associates, LLC and Silver Star, have extensive sailing and racing experience throughout the East Coast of the U.S and on the Chesapeake Bay on boats ranging from 17' & 18' Hobie Cats, to Thistles, JY15's, J24's, Laser's and Lightening's.  We've raced J24's in the East Coast Championships in Annapolis and Mid-Winter's in Key West.  We have sailed offshore on a Calibre 38 from Mystic, Connecticut through Long Island Sound, offshore NJ and around Cape May, NJ to Fairlee Creek, Maryland on the Bay.

More recently, we have spent the last 5 years sailing the Chesapeake Bay on our Corsair F28R trimaran (boat on left in the picture) visiting destinations in Annapolis, Baltimore, St. Michael's, St. Mary's College, Worton Creek, Fairlee Creek, Still Pond, Georgetown Yacht Basin, Magothy River, Chestertown, Havre De Grace, and North East River.  We've raced our F28R in the 2004 Governor's Cup, which was a 70 mile overnight race from Annapolis to St. Mary's College that offered one of the best wind conditions in many years (we frequently hit 15 - 17 knots sustained on the GPS on the way south).   We have also raced our Catana C381 in the 2005 Governor's Cup (boat on right in the picture) with close friends and we experienced the thrill of sailing in 25 - 30 knot winds complete with lightening storms during that race.  In 2006, we did the Governor's Cup on "Lottery", a Beneteau 36.7, and we experienced ideal conditions sailing south the St. Mary's College.

With our sailing experience on the Chesapeake Bay, we can help guide you in selecting a sailing vacation that will thoroughly expose to you the treasures of the Bay.  We've also lived overseas for some time in Europe and welcome our friends from 'over the pond' to contact us.

Please join us aboard Silver Star and become part of our small clientele of sailing enthusiasts to share our passion for sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.  Please contact us if you are interested in chartering our vessel for a week on the Chesapeake Bay.  We will ensure your experience is a positive one.
