C381 Info

Silver Star is a well equipped and well made 1998 Catana C381 is the hard to find owner's version and is the only model located in US waters.   Key differences you'll find in the owner's version layout include an office setup with desk and bookshelfs that can also be setup as a 3rd berth using removable custom bunk and bunk cushions.   For those of you who don't like sitting in telephone booth sized heads, you'll also find a rather large shower and head in the aft portion of the starboard hull.   We particularly enjoy this creature comfort after enduring mono hull sized heads for many years.  Also, you will find larger, highly reliable BRAND NEW 29 HP Yanmar 3YM30FC diesels compared to 18 - 20 HP diesels normally found in the C381.  She nicely sails at 7 - 12 knots in 10 - 20 knot winds and can get up to teens in 25+ knot winds.  This yacht is truly a performance cruising catamaran that is perfect for those interested in an ocean capable yacht.

This C381 yacht has been refurbished since we acquired her in December '04.  Since then, over $45k has been invested to bring her into turn key condition.   In 2008, she has recently been re-powered with twin Yanmar 29 engines (3YM30FC/new SD20 Saildrive), she's received new flex-o-fold props, new Quantum main and genny sails in April '05, the bottom has been prepped and painted with Petit Trinidad SLR in August '07 with all zincs replaced in August '07.  Numerous investments have been made to meet rigorous survey and insurance requirements.   This yacht is Coast Guard documented and was surveyed in July '04 (both engines, rig and hull).   This yacht is ready to go.  If you are interested in purchase, the price is $292k as she sits.  We will consider trades (J105, F31, or other racing or performance oriented yachts).

If you are interested in purchase, please call or email for further information:   302-290-1066 or rcgamble@hotmail.com

The beam of the boat can be handled by large marinas.  Once you go beyond 22 feet you will have problems finding haulout facilities.  There are 3 marina located on the northern Chesapeake Bay (Annapolis, Georgetown and Worton Creek) that can handle her.
