About Us

Silver Star, a 38' Catamaran made by Catana, offers sailing enthusiasts the opportunity to explore the treasures of the Chesapeake Bay aboard a comfortable performance oriented catamaran.

Bob and Cindy, owners of R.C. Gamble Associates, LLC and Silver Star, have extensive sailing and racing experience throughout the East Coast of the U.S and on the Chesapeake Bay on boats ranging from 17' & 18' Hobie Cats, to Thistles, JY15's, J24's, Laser's and Lightening's. We've raced J24's in the East Coast Championships in Annapolis and Mid-Winter's in Key West. We have sailed offshore on a Calibre 38 from Mystic, Connecticut through Long Island Sound, offshore NJ and around Cape May, NJ to Fairlee Creek, Maryland on the Bay.

Over the past 10 years we have sailed the Chesapeake Bay on our Corsair F28R trimaran and Catana C381 visiting destinations in Annapolis, Baltimore, St. Michael's, St. Mary's College, Worton Creek, Fairlee Creek, Still Pond, Georgetown Yacht Basin, Magothy River, Chestertown, Havre De Grace, and North East River. We've raced our F28R in the 2004 Governor's Cup, which is a 70 mile overnight race from Annapolis to St. Mary's College. That year was our most memorable experience as the wind conditions were 15 - 20 knots and setup for a broad reach for 50 miles down the bay for the race south. We frequently hit 15 - 17 knots sustained on the GPS under main and reacher. The following year we raced our Catana C381 in the 2005 Governor's Cup with close friends and experienced the thrill of sailing in 25 - 30 knot thunderstorm driven winds complete with lightening during that race. Finally, in the 2006 Governor's Cup, we crewed on "Lottery", a Beneteau 36.7, and we experienced yet another year with ideal wind conditions sailing south to St. Mary's College.
