  2008 sailing season  Silver Star is ready to go for the 2008 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake Bay.  We've recently completed re-powering both engines with twin 29 HP Yanmar diesel engines for excellent cruising performance.  She has a new 11 foot Caribe Dinghy with a new 15 HP (4 stroke) Honda Outboard for getting around your cruising destination in style.  Silver Star is available for bareboat charter on the Chesapeake Bay from Late April 2008 through November 2008.  Our rates are an attractive $2900 per week and $2100 per weekend and we can accommodate most any special arrangements you might request.  Please contact us immediately for further details and to discuss any special arrangements. 302-290-1066 or rcgamble@hotmail.com.   

During the 2008 sailing seasion, we will continue to offer captained daily or multi-day cruises for folks not familiar with sailing catamarans or would like to just go out for a sail on the Chesapeake Bay.  We will also continue to offer non-certification catamaran education programs for those interested in learning about navigation, catamaran systems, sail trim, anchoring, and any other areas.  The course can be tailored to your individual requirements. 

Week Long "Bareboat Adventure" ...Explore the Upper Chesapeake Bay.  From Sailing Associates on the Sassafras River, sail to historic Baltimore and visit the city's Inner Harbor.  Then head south to visit destinations such as Annapolis, St. Michaels and Oxford.  All within reach while sailing aboard a 38' performance-oriented Catana C381 catamaran.

" Weekend Getaway Cruise" ..........for weekend getaways, stay aboard Silver Star for a relaxing friday evening at Sailing Associates Inc. in Georgetown, Md.  Located on the Sassafras River, Sailing Associates is a tranquil marina with excellent facilities and a wonderful place to catch a nice dinner at several restaurants within walking distance.  Sunsets are particularly enjoyable as you look west towards the bay.  If you want to get an early start you can sail south to Fairlee Creek to drop an anchor and continue your trip south to enjoy crabs at Rock Hall or a overnight visit to Annapolis, Maryland.

Baltimore's Inner Harbor has many attractions to enjoy including National Aquarium in Baltimore, USS Torsk submarine and the home of the Baltimore Orioles.  

               

 

Catana 381 -- Unique to the Catana 381 is the single helm station located aft on the centerline and raised for excellent 360-degree visibility.  The galley and navigation station are on the same level as the saloon.  Silver Star's layout include the owner's version with one hull devoted to the owner's suite. 

Hull number one on her maiden sea-trial recorded 18.2-knots (sustained) in 24-knots of true wind.

Silver Star comfortably accommodates 6 adults and features the owner version full bath and shower with pressurized hot water.  Explore while at anchor or mooring from 2 Frenzy sea kayaks and Rib dinghy.
